About Us
The Ventura County Real Estate Investors Association (“VCREIA”) is one of the oldest and largest investor club in Southern California. Our mission is very simple; to provide education, networking, and mentoring to real estate investors throughout Ventura County.
We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at the River Ridge Country Club, 2401 W. Vineyard Ave,Oxnard, CA 93036. We present the finest national and international speakers for in-depth real estate education. Learn from our great speakers and network with fellow investors. Here are some of the things we have going now:
- Monthly Meetings. We conduct our General Meetings (free) on the second Wednesday of every month, 7:30 to 9:30 pm.
- Vendor Expos. We conduct monthly Vendor Expos (free), before our general meetings, where you can “meet and greet” over 40 real estate professionals eager to work with you on your next project.
- VCREIA University. We conduct monthly workshops, classes, seminars, and boot camps on various real estate subjects.
- Mentoring Program. We have the best Private Mentoring Program in the Western Hemisphere! For those of you new to real estate investing and need help getting started, our mentoring is for you.
- Loan Center. Our Loan Center (free) has over 100 lenders eager to finance your next deal. These lenders will actually compete for your business.
- Wholesale Deals. Every Friday we email you our “Wholesale Deals” with properties available for you to buy. The list is free to members (with Gold Members receiving first priority).
- Rubbing Elbows Podcast. LAREIC hosts a weekly podcast called “Rubbing Elbows” (Thursdays at 2:30 pm and streaming thereafter), with the latest local real estate news, starring our very own Chuck Dorfman and Lior Yehuda.
- Economic Updates. Lloyd’s award-winning “Economic Update” newsletter (free) with the latest real estate news comes out every Monday morning to help you start the week.
- Basic Training Boot Camp. It all starts with our quarterly Real Estate Basic Training Boot Camp, where we teach you the fundamentals of real estate investing. Don’t miss it!

Meet the Team
Lloyd Segal
President
Trained as an attorney, Lloyd Segal is a mortgage banker, author, real estate investor, mentor, and public speaker. Lloyd was born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania (Go Steelers!). He graduated Boston University, Boston University Law School, and Southwestern University School of Law (where he was President of the Student Bar Association), and studied international law (and skiing) at the University of Innsbruck, Austria.
Lloyd is the author of four real estate reference books, including “Everything You Wanted to Know About Chapter 11 Bankruptcy…but Were Afraid to Ask,” “Stop Foreclosure Now in California” (Nolo Press), and “Stop Foreclosure Now” (American Management Association). Last year, “Stop Foreclosure Now” was selected “Best Personal Finance Book of the Year” by USA Today Book News, based upon helping homeowners avoid losing their homes in foreclosure. Lloyd also wrote “Foreclosure Investing” (Regency Publishing) to educate real estate investors on buying foreclosures. Lloyd’s newest book is called “Flipping Houses” which describes how to get started finding, financing, fixing, and flipping houses. With his extensive experience and writings on real estate and related topics, Lloyd is considered “America’s Leading House-Flipping Expert.”
Lloyd is an informative and exciting public speaker with over 25 years of professional real estate experience as an investor, mentor, mortgage banker, attorney, and author. He has been interviewed and/or quoted on National Public Radio, Wall Street Journal, CNN, Fox Business News, Los Angeles Times, Parade Magazine, Smart Money, Publisher’s Weekly, and other radio, TV, and newspapers around the country.
He is also a frequent guest speaker at universities, boards of realtors, Coldwell Banker national conventions, real estate investor clubs, and numerous other real estate and service organizations throughout the United States. Lloyd currently teaches workshops for investors and/or Realtors throughout United States. Lloyd is a volunteer member of Mercy Ships, which provides humanitarian assistance after natural disasters around the world.
In 2005, Lloyd traveled to New Orleans and volunteered in the recovery after Hurricane Katrina destroyed the city and killed over 1,800 residents. In 2010, Lloyd went to Port-a-Prince after an earthquake devasted Haiti, aiding in the relief and recovery efforts that destroyed homes and killed over 160,000 people! Lloyd did it again in 2014 after a typhoon and tsunami destroyed Phuket, Thailand. But he was stopped at the border because he didn’t have sufficient vaccinations. And of course, Lloyd will volunteer again when the next natural disaster inevitably strikes somewhere in our world.
Lloyd is an avid horseman. His passion is polo. He is a member of the United States Polo Association, and the former President (nine years!) of the Will Rogers Polo Club in Pacific Palisades, California.
In 2019, Lloyd assumed leadership of Ventura County Real Estate Investors Association. Since then, Lloyd has been busy expanding Club’s events and programs for members, Gold members, and real estate investors. The Vendors Expo, Basic Training Boot Camp, Out-of-State Investing Summit, reconfigured website, and expanded Gold Membership activities, are just some of the new activities instituted by Lloyd and his team.

LaTasha Evans
Club Coordinator
Born and raised in Granada Hills, LaTasha is the power behind the throne. She makes everything run smoothly at the Ventura County Real Estate Investor’s Association. At our monthly meetings, LaTasha is the first to arrive and the last to leave. She makes sure everyone gets checked in, that the vendors are set-up, and the featured speaker is ready to go. If you have questions or need help, look for LaTasha. With her smile and endless patience, she is always there to help you. When not engrossed in VCREIA details, LaTasha is busy water skiing and enjoying her daughter’s years at UCLA.
Susan Hall
Media Coordinator
Susan is the ultimate “Virtual Assistant.” Susan does everything the rest of at VCREIA refuse to do. If you receive an email, it’s from Susan. If you receive a reminder or flyer, it’s from Susan. If you pay online for a seminar or book, Susan processes it and emails you a receipt. Susan NEVER leaves her Culver City Castle and loves her new nickname, “Agoraphobic Agnes.” When not working on VCREIA business, she is busy watching “Game of Thrones” and “House of Cards.” We love her. You should too!
